REST and SOAP are two different ways to connect applications with server-side data. Both of the API formats use data that both humans and machines can read, and both often use HTTP protocols. But there are many differences between the two. The question SOAP vs. REST compares two approaches to data transmission for APIs. The main difference is that SOAP is a structured protocol, while REST is more flexible and less defined. You can make soap with almost any oil including animal fats and waxes like tallow and beeswax. These free soap recipes are great for using farm ingredients from your own homestead or even the farmer’s market.

The HTTP Protocol

Since they are salts of fatty acids, soaps have the general formula ( RCO 2 −) nM n+,where R is an alkyl, M is a metal and n is the charge of the cation. The major classification of soaps is determined by the identity of M n+. When M is Na (sodium) or K (potassium), the soaps are called toilet soaps, used for handwashing. Many metal dications ( Mg 2+, Ca 2+, and others) give metallic soap. When M is Li, the result is lithium soap (e.g., lithium stearate), which is used in high-performance greases. [46] A cation from an organic base such as ammonium can be used instead of a metal; ammonium nonanoate is an ammonium-based soap that is used as an herbicide. [47] McNeil, Ian (1990). An Encyclopaedia of the History of Technology. Taylor & Francis. pp.2003–205. ISBN 978-0-415-01306-2. Archived from the original on 2016-05-05. Two major bonuses with hot process soap are that you can 100% control the superfatting oil and, if you’re working with a good recipe, there is zero lye left in the soap after you spoon/pour it from the pot. In cold process, saponification takes a couple of days and during that time the lye reacts with whatever oils it wishes to. In the end, the extra oil left in the soap is a combination of all the oils used. Not so with hot process. In hot process, you can add the superfat oil after the cook, and all of that oil will stay in the final bars as the superfat. Although SOAP can be used in a variety of messaging systems and can be delivered via a variety of transport protocols, the initial focus of SOAP is remote procedure calls transported via HTTP.
