If using the SP1 with a Serato mixer, the controller will likely be your only track browser, and if using it with a controller, the SP1’s browser may be the more capable option. The layout is similar to Pioneers’ well known controller range for ease of use and familiarity amongst DJs.

The controller includes 16 rubber LED pads where 7 modes are able to be triggered – Hot Cue, Roll, Slicer, Sample, Auto Loop, Hot Loop and Manual Loop. The DDJ-SP1 can also be used with a CDJ-2000 NXS2 or XDJ-RX2 to maximise the use of extra cue points on the new RekordBox 4 software. It won’t unlock Serato DJ on its own, but it does include Serato Video, and the ability to control it.
