About this deal

The sound is quiet and muted, so it won’t disrupt anyone at the office, coffee shop, or at home. The Razer Pro Type is considerably more audible with its full MX-style switch design and proprietary Razer switches with Razer keycaps. Lighting

The CHERRY DW 9100 SLIM desktop set stands out due to its innovative functions, excellent workmanship and very flat design. You can connect the wireless mouse and keyboard with the 2.4-GHz wireless USB receiver supplied or via Bluetooth®. You can switch connection types in an instant using a switch on the wireless mouse or keyboard. This allows e.g. a laptop to be connected via Bluetooth® 4.2 and a PC to be additionally connected via a wireless connection to be operated with the same desktop set. The data is transferred using AES-128 encryption in both cases. The range of up to 10 meters is also sufficient e.g. multimedia applications on televisions.

A stylish and muscular travel mouse with a handy DPI selector and a surprisingly low price

The keyboard has limited key-rollover support, only detecting three key presses at a time. Unless you're buying this keyboard for gaming, which would be unlikely for a productivity-focused keyboard, that shouldn't be an issue.

The keys have a soft, padded feel with just enough bite to satisfy hungry typists, unlike mushy laptop keys. Working or browsing for multiple hours at a time is comfortable and easy. This is no surprise, as Cherry is famous for its mechanical key switches, the infrastructure below the button that dictates how much effort it takes to press down ("actuation force") and how those presses feel. The wireless computer mouse, which matches the keyboard perfectly in terms of appearance, also has numerous features. It fits ideally in the user’s hand thanks to its rubber-coated side parts and a compact design. The resolution can be set in three stages at the touch of a button: 1000, 1600 or 2400 dpi. A two-colour status LED provides the user with information on the battery status, the charging status, the selected resolution or the connection status at all times. An extra-durable mouse wheel with optical scanning and a magnetic storage feature for the USB receiver are further details that ensure nothing is left to be desired. Overall, the Cherry DW 9100 Slim keyboard feels sturdy and well built. There is very little flex in the body and metal faceplate. The sides and body are a white plastic that looks nice enough, but it doesn’t have quite the same premium look like an Apple Magic Keyboard.

My Experience

As a touch typist, I’m sometimes thrown off my game by wireless keyboard layouts. But with its roomy design and slightly concave keys, I had no problem with key discovery and was able to switch between it and my laptop keyboard without having to adjust my finger spread. The mouse Cherry Cherry promises the battery lasts for "weeks of charge." There's also an Off button to conserve power. Personally, I have never turned it off and never charged it in the last two and a half months of use. (I promise I'm working, boss!) The long battery life is a major benefit. It may even make the keyboard worth buying in itself if you're not a fan of adding "turn off keyboard" to your to-do list, but you still want a wireless connection.
